The Northland Garden club Presents Beautiful Madness Flower Show

The Northland Garden Club will sponsor its second annual Beautiful Madness Flower Show at Zona Rosa on Saturday, July 19th, 2008.  Zona Rosa is located at I-29 and Barry Road and the show will be held in Marshall's Garden Court, 8460 N Dixon.

The show is open to the public from 1:00 – 4:00 PM during which time the entries can be viewed and Floral Designer, John Shackleford, AIFD, from Shackelford Botanical Designs, will be creating an array of floral arrangements. John's arrangements will be given away through a drawing at 3:30 PM.

The theme for this year’s show is Floral Chic, which includes the following categories of fresh/dried flower arrangements:

• “If the Shoe Fits” – an arrangement in a shoe or shoe like container
• “Pretty in Fink” – a predominately pink arrangement in a container of your choice
• “Garden Jewels” – your favorite home grown flower or foliage to display
• “Rose Diva” – your favorite rose, either single stem or spray variety that you are growing
• “Putting on the Ritz” – an arrangement that evokes a sense of motion and excitement
• “Button and Bows” – a petite arrangement that can be no more than 6” in height, including the container
• "High Style" - a hand-tied bouquet. Free standing - no container. Any size or shape of gathered flowers, displayed in a saucer
• “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” – an elegant breakfast tray ensemble with floral accents.

Arrangements can be checked in from 9:30 – 11:00 AM. Judging is from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM. The judge is Cookie Leach, owner of Hibiscus Designer Florist. The competition is open to the public and prizes will be awarded for Best of Show, and 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in each category.
